This mare is sweet and gentle with kids of all ages. She can be led without a lead line, ridden english or western, goes bitless, bareback or any other way you want to ride. My friend goes out in the pasture and jumps on her back with no problems. I bought Rainy as an endurance prospect, as her conformation is excellent. I spent two weeks riding her all over her 100 acre pasture and never had any problems with her. However, when I took her out on the road, she was barn sour and uncomfortable leaving home. No bucking or rearing, she just stops and doesn't go any further. She's getting better, but I saw no point in forcing her to do endurance rides when it was something she didn't enjoy. She goes on the road just fine next to another horse.
She would best be suited to a home where she gets out every day or almost everyday and is handled and ridden a lot. She is not high strung, she just loves attention! She is fine when trailored to a horse show. My friend put her 2 yr old and 4 yr old sons on this horse, bareback, handed them the reins, and let them walk all over the yard. Her 6 yr old can walk, jog, and lope this horse.
She looks like a petite quarter horse, very little arabian influence in her. She had a beautiful halter type conformation colt last year out of a paint stallion. He has been exceptionally easy to work with - he has his mother's sweet personality.
I would be interesting in trading for either an aged lesson appropriate horse, or an endurance prospect.
