Horse Systems Inc. was incorporated in 1980 specifically to manufacture a treatment for splints occurring on the legs of horses. Splintex soon became the recommended treatment for splints as well as other indications worldwide. Splintex is a topical alternative to chemical treatments such as DMSO. Unlike other products used to treat splints Splintex does not cause harmful chemical reactions or skin discomfort, allows the horse to remain active (depending on severity of splint) and does not cause the horse to emit unpleasant bodily odors.
Splints manifest themselves as swellings and bony enlargements located on the splint bones of both fore and hind legs of horses. Such factors as concussion, strain, conformation and nutrition may be the causes of splints. Splints are at best unsightly blemishes detracting from the horse's appearance, performance and most importantly, value. In cases, they may be the cause of clinical lameness.
Splintex Gold ($44.50): Formulated for cold splints and other indications. Other Indications: capped hocks, sesamoiditis, early ringbone. Interruption to the horse's daily routine is usually not required. Total treatment time may be in excess of 30 days.
Splintex Silver ($39.50): Formulated for hot splints. Fresh splints may typically be up to 60 days after initial appearance. Important: Allow the horse total rest. Total treatment time may be 15 days, or 3 five day cycles.
Important: Do not mix productions with DMSO. For More Information On Splintex Please visit: http://WWW.EQUINESPLINTS.COM/
